Clip Coach
Clip Coach is a performance feedback loop that analyzes a clipper's published clips against engagement data to surface what's working and what isn't.
The hardest part of running a clip channel isn't producing clips — it's knowing which choices drive views. Hook style, caption length, posting time, niche, source channel — every variable matters, but feedback comes weeks later when view counts settle. Clip Coach closes that loop by pulling per-clip view, watch-time, and like data, then comparing against the clipper's own historical baseline.
The coach surfaces patterns the clipper would miss eyeballing the dashboard: clips from a specific source channel are 40% above baseline, evening posts on Wednesdays underperform, captions over 110 characters drop 15% retention. Coaches don't predict the future — they expose what already happened in a way the clipper can act on next week.
Note: Clip Coach was removed from the AutoClip UI in April 2026 (commits 5ee53ee, 26b7553) after low usage. The backend Convex functions remain, and the feature may return in a different form.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Clip Coach available in AutoClip today?
No. The UI was removed in April 2026 due to low engagement. Backend data collection continues for the analytics dashboard, but no automated coaching surface ships in the current product.
What metrics did Clip Coach analyze?
Views, watch-time percentage, likes, shares, and per-clip retention curves pulled from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts APIs. Comparisons were always against the clipper's own historical baseline, not aggregate platform averages.
